I'm a SageTV user looking at switching to GBPVR. One of the things I like about Sage is that it allows me to have multiple clients that can do basically everything a server can. I also like their ability to have multiple servers for tuners in different rooms and all recordings in one database.

1. I've read a little about a PC client, but it looks like it can't watch live tv. Is this true and if so, is it being looked at for a new feature?

2. Is there any way to have tuners in different systems record and add to the "server's" database for all the clients to see?

BTW, I'm using both HDTV and analog so the MVP won't do it for me. The reasons I'm looking at leaving SageTV are the cost of a second server license, the dependence on Java, and the fact that I've been programming in VB and VC# for several years and would feel more comfortable with something written in one of these languages.

There is no supported method for adding a PC client at this stage. As it sounds like you've already read, there is a non-offical approach to doing this. It works well for scheduling and viewing recordings, but poorly for live tv.

I will probably add a PC client in a future release, and will resolve the live tv issue at that time.

No, there isnt any way to do this, and no plans to add it in the future.

If you're not planning on adding network encoders, then what would be the limit to the number of tuners?

There is no limit imposed by GB-PVR to the number of tuners.
