Hi,

I've had a problem with my setup lately. I have been using GBPVR for almost 2 years, but have had a problem lately. I reformatted my computer and think that may have cause the problem.

I have been using 2 cards one hauppauge PVR150 and a PVR250 (essentially the same card as I understand). Both were working fine for months, until I noticed that some recordings were just 'snow@, as though there was no antenna connected. Anyhow, through multiple changes of cards and testing, I have boiled it down to a bizarre problem. The PVR150 works fine on both live tv and recordings. The PVR250 works fine with live tv, but when I record something with this card and try to play it in GBPVR, all I see is 'snow'.

Any ideas?

Reproduce this snow problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

OK, I changed to the problematic card, I then watched SkyNews (everything went fine), and recorded it (snow both on desktop and MVP). I have attached the logs.

Thanks for helping me with this.

The first thing I suggest is setting the deinterlacing setting to 'encoder pass through'.

I also suspect your devices numbers may not be correct for your capture sources. One needs to be #1, one needs to be #2. If the current combination doesnt work, try swapping them - otherwise you may be trying to use a PVR150 as a PVR250, and a PVR250 as a PVR150.

I tried your suggestions, but unfortunately no joy. I have actually removed the second device from the list of capture sources, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the card.

Any more ideas?

Thanks,

With both cards enabled, can you try to do two recordings at the same, then zip and attach the logs?

These are the logs with 2 cards installed. I still get the same problem - one recording is fine, and the other is snow.

The logs seem like you've got both your PVR150 and PVR250 configured as PVR250's in your capture source settings. Or more specifically, I cant see any messages initializing the PVR150 as a PVR150.

I think I was mistaken about that. Both are PVR 250. I bought one when I first started using GBPVR and the second one was from eBay. It was actually taken from a HP desktop, and is slightly different to the standard PVR 250 by having different connectors.

Anyhow, it's the original PVR250 card (bought from amazon) that is malfunctioning.

Any other ideas from the logs?

Thanks,

You're positive you've got the antenna connected to both? If so, then unfortunately its sounds like one of them is broken to me. You could try to confirm either way by running some other tv software to check whether you still get snow.
