Hi All,

Been following this for quite a while, tried the 'new' BDA drivers. My problem is the Capture driver is not loading, well it did once. But I uninstalled as no channels were found. Re-installed and now the Capture portion does not load.

Any ideas ?.

Hi Sub

GB-PVR v0.97.13 & Media MVP
Freecom DVB-T USB Stick
Hi Gain rooftop Antenna, apparently good signal reception.
3.0GHZ XP Pro PC SP2 & 1GB RAM

I've been reading posts for a while now but unable to get my Feb 2006 USB FreeCom stick to work correctly. Uninstalled old drivers & loaded latest FreeCom bda drivers & now can use bda. Channels found when using Scanchannelsbda.exe

Can now MAP Channels only when All channels selected but not when specifying Angus my local transmitter bda89.ini. Checked frequencies at http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=NO394407 and they seem to match bda89.ini.

Update EPG freezes part way through with FreeCom LED flashing or permanently green, thus EPG not updated and Live TV does'nt work either.

Help!, please find attached logs etc, hope you can tell me what's wrong.

I found a discrepancy between the channel frequencies in the full uk file and my local (Bromsgrove) version. Editing the Bromsgrove file allowed me to scan successfully using this file. NB I made a backup and found that you need to keep backups out of that directory.

Incidentally I managed to find a site which now eludes me that allowed me to enter a postcode and get a table of channels.

AI.

Hi,

I have succesfully installed the latest Freecom drivers and GB PVR v0.97.13.

When i get GBPVR to search for channels on my local transmitter, Crystal Palace, it only comes up with a very limited few. However, when i run the original freecom software i can pick up all the channels i should be able to. I have also run ScanChannelsBDA which seemed to pick them all up.

I have attached some log files to help.

Having a quick look, the only obvious discrepancy is between the frequencies identified in devnz\gbpvr\BDA\Dvb-t\0126.ini and those picked up by ScanChannelsBDA for those ending in 33/34 (0126.ini ends 34, ScanChannels reports 33).

Any help people can offer would be very much appreciated.

Had a look at 0000.ini and both Angus and Crystal palace ini files. There is a discrepancy in the frequencies so I suggest that, if the full scan of the UK works, then edit the regional file so its frequencies match. NB do this at your own risk and make a backup first :p

ArtificialIntel2, i did that, replacing the frequencies in the Crystal Palace .ini file for those reported by ScanChannels, but with no effect....

Shish

Had a look at your logs. The frequencies in config.exe-native.log seem to be those from the original ini file. If I'm reading it correctly, the only channel locked was C34.

If this log was taken after you rescanned, did you leave a backup of the file in the directory? If so, you may have selected that by mistake. (don't shout if I'm wrong - I'm only speculating on this from the data I've got Smile ) If you did, then Crystal Palace will appear more than once in the drop down list.

If all else fails, just use the full scan of the uk. This should pick up all your channels although scanning 57 rather than 6 frequencies takes a lot longer. This is what I did until I worked out why the two scans were giving different numbers of tv and radio channels

Hope this helps.

If no channels at all are found, it may also be worth running the ReRegisterFilters.bat.

I uninstalled the WDM Drives That came with it and downloaded the BDA drives from the Freecom website and installed succesfully but when i open the gb0pvr config then capture devices add a new bda recording devce and select freecom usb type2 i get this long error message (below)

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

i have tryed some of the ideas on this thread but they do not work can someone please help me?

I will attach a copy of the scanbda results

This was covered a few pages back. The definition of the Freecom DVB-T device has a typo in the bda.ini file. It says "DEVICE_TYPE=DVB-t" when it needs to say "DEVICE_TYPE=DVB-T" or something like that.
