Fist let me tell you about my setup. I want to use my PC as a media center and a desktop PC. I have a dual output video card with the VGA going to my monitor and the DVI going to my projector. I was going to purchase beyond TV but after looking at GB it does everything that I need/want for free! Here is what I plan to buy...

DVICO FusionHDTV 5 RT Lite
Hauppauge PVR-150
Remote

My dilemma is that if I but the MCE ed. of the PVR I get the Hauppauge MCE remote with it. But the wiki says it has limited support in GB (need to use HIP). If I buy the regular ver. of the 150 and get a Microsoft MCE remote it is an extra $20. Which am I better to go with? Is it that hard to use the Hauppauge remote in GB? Is it worth $20 extra dollars for the Microsoft remote?

Thanks,
Mitchell

i use the hauppauge remote with no problems - i think you only need hip if you are going to control other hardware - like a cable box etc ? - i say i think cause im not entirely sure about that.

cheers

mine looks different to that one - heres the line to what mine looks like - http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/...vr150.html

i have both the PVR-150 and the PVR-150-MCE - my mce card didnt come with a remote and you cant add one to that card as it doesnt have the connection for it on the back.

yea, that the regular one. I have read that one is kind of cheap. its only a $1 more for the MCE ed. remote. looks like a much better remote I just want to know how hard it is to use in GB.

since i dont have that Hauppauge MCE remote i couldnt tell you how easy it is to setup that one - the "cheap" one is very easy to setup.
