Stop timeshift/recording

Sorry if this was answered before.
Let's say GBPVR is recording a program. I press "Live TV" and I get two options "Watch Program ABC" or "Don't watch TV"

Question 1: Why not third option "Stop Recording"?

Now, assuming I chose "Watch ...", I start to view it from begining (from the recording), in time-shift mode.
Question 2: Why not allow me to chose between time-shit and live watching of the program being recorded?

Question 3: While watching it (in timeshift), what's the quickest way to tell GBPVR to stop recording and just move me to watch it in real Live TV? All I know is to:
go out of viewing, into recordings menu, Pending, select correct one (shows "Recording" on it), press cancel. Cumbersome?

You can catch up. That won't put you in live tv, but it will let you watch as close to live as possible while still recording. You do this with the "blank" button on your hauppauge remote (the one without any text at all).

I don't think I have a "blank" button.
In any case, this only solves the catching up (I can just press the >>| few times, right?). However, Questions 1,2,3 still stand... :o

Yeah, I know, it's not exactly what you want to do. The difference, however, between the catching up and the >>| a few times is subtle. The blank button would catch up to the very end of the stream, whereas >>| behaves a bit differently. If you have a 1 minute skip configured to >>|, you won't be able to skip more if there is still, say, 45 seconds "left" of the currently playing stream.... subtle, but still Wink

(hope it's possible to understand that).

No, I do understand. What is the blank button anyway?

On the 34 button remote there is a blank button. Not sure which one (if any) is used for that on the 45 button remote... the "Go" button, maybe? Smile

I'll try it. Although I'm quite sure all the buttons aleady been assigned to other functions. Anyways - maybe someone can help with the other questions... maybe sub wants to comment?

If you check your irremote.ini, it's the button that is mapped to the "ctrl-o" keystroke Smile

By default it is the asterix in the bottom left corner of the number pad, just to the left of zero.
