Jksmurf has asked me to take over his dongle business as he is away for a while.
So I'm the new Dongle Dodo When Sub releases his new version this probably won't be necessary anymore.

Htv - Thanks for that. I am doing alot of playing around. I installed GBPVR a month or so ago and have been playing with that on the computer only. Then today I went and got a PVR-150 and a MediaMVP Wired. I was going to get the wireless one but some of the forum messages convinced me not too!
So 2 hours ago I plugged it all in. I loaded all the TVcard software and got it all going no problems. Then I plugged in the MVP but I did NOT load the software which came with it but just the default ones which came with GBPVR when I did the new install (no plugins) dongle.bin, gbmvp.bin, and dongle-3.0.24088.bin. Dongle.bin did not get me far at all. I am not even sure if the GBPVR would load on the MVP on the TV. If it did it rebooted very quickly. gbmvp.bin - it loaded and looked ok on the screen but I had the same problem as dongle-3.0.24088.bin. That was this: - No audio for net radio or mp3's coming through to the TV. - No live tv - freezes the MVP and black screen it (made it full screen and nothing came through), no audio. - No Audio or Video - Replaying files recorded on GBPVR a few hours earlier via the PVR150 - Photo Album ok - Menus at the top of the tv screen - may have been off the top. Basically - No audio or Video. THEN... after I got the PM I dowloaded Dongle_32_24110.BIN and thought before I went too far I would boot that one. Just to see where my new starting point was. Now they are ALL FIXED. For the first time ever what seemed like it might take hours and hours of reading was fixed in a matter of seconds. To recap. Menus - perfect Live TV - perfect audio & video Net radio - perfect Recorded TV - not checked yet. Other AVIs - play for 5 seconds then get kicked out of the file and back to the GBPVR menu. Does not reboot. So this dongle fixed 95% of my problems and the avi file issue will probably be something easy to fix but I have not done any research yet on that. I will also look to see how I can see the versions of everything so I can add them to a separate post. But I did not think I would be upto that yet so I have not paid attention to it. I had a look at replying to this post as you asked but I cant see how to reply - http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=44 but I understand the value of the info there so I will honour it but not tonight. Thanks a million and to anyone who might be reading this with weird problems which dont make sense. try this dongle as you have nothing to lose and you might just save your self hours of trying things and rebooting. Thanks everyone for the magic cure. Matthew

Quote:Dongle.bin did not get me far at all. I am not even sure if the GBPVR would load on the MVP on the TV. If it did it rebooted very quickly. The summary is that the new H series MVPs only really started to surface after the last GB-PVR. The dongle files that were included with that release of GB-PVR did not work with these new models. The next version of GB-PVR include an updated dongle that works with these models, so users wont have to ferrit around to find one themselves. Thankfully jksmurf has been performing the role of dongle dealer, keeping everyone well supplied. Quote:Other AVIs - play for 5 seconds then get kicked out of the file and back to the GBPVR menu. Does not reboot. This is usually a sign that your PC cant transcode from AVI to MPEG2 in the required 'faster than realtime'.

Just post your feedback in this thread, I just can't add any more to that post. It's probably not worth starting a new one if sub's ready with 0.98 soon. k.

System specs are bad. I know they Ok to play direct from WMPlayer etc but not to play, encode and serve at the same time. I thought the problem would be something like that.
For the record the computer specs are Intel 1.8gig Processor, crappy all in 1 motherboard with 1.5gig of ram. Not enough for good video.( I have read Sub says 2.4 processor) Was hoping to get away with it as this is the spare machine to serve up the data to the MVP. Thought there might be some tweeks but I have not done much forum surifng today. Will try another computer. Looked at the MVP details MVP 86020 Rev H3 Lot 2106 - bios(or whatever) = 2.05 Thanks HtV (Dongle Dealer) and of course Sub for your endless energy in answering the same questions over and over....

It's not far from the minimum-specs for on the fly recording. What you might do is: increase the pre-transcode-delay in config-mvp, to e.g. 20000 msecs. Then try again, if it still won't work: after the movie starts playing hit pause, that will give the system time to transcode a decent part of the movie. Then after maybe 15 mins start watching. With the green button (remote) or ctrl-g (keyboard) you get the osd so you can see how far it has transcoded yet.
