Don't know if this is fixed in a later release, i'm afraid I haven't kept up as the hassle of migrating everything including plug-in's is too much and I have a relatively stable platform however i've just noticed the following behaviour today which doesn't seem right.

I looked in the config programme but didn't make any changes and cancelled out. The recording service had been instructed to stop and not restart.

This seems very wrong. I've long said that there should be a deferred apply but to stop the service when no changes have been made and to not pop up a dialog to say so is wrong behaviour.

Surely the recording service should only be instructed to stop and start if changes have been made and OK is pressed.

David.

The recording service is only told to stop when you click the OK button in the config app. If you zip attach the logs, I'll take a look.

Are you sure it was related to the config app? If the recording service stopped at some other time, then you might be a victim of the problem described at post #2 of the sticky v0.97.13 survival guide thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=17730. This is relevent to all the v0.97 builds.

Here's the log attached but don't worry about it. As I said, i'm way back on 96.8 and so if you're sure it's not working like this in the current version then not a problem.

In fact, the recording service shut down as soon as I loaded config, hadn't even done anything in the config but looking at the log, it's a graceful shutdown.

I'll update one day when i'm feeling brave Smile
