Here are updates for all the plug-ins I support. Note that the video archive plug-in skin is for the next rev of the plug-in, which won't be posted until later this week.

Has anyone gotten the Volume and SportsScore plugins to work with BlueMCE2? If so, how did you do it?

I downloaded the BlueMCE2 skin from the wiki and installed it. I think it's very appealing and I just love the way it looks.

I installed the volume plugin but it does not show up.

I installed the SportsScore plugin but all the sports that I selected does not show up and I had to use the original skin, the one that came with the SportsScore plugin, to make it work.

Any suggestions?

Those plugins need to be skinned for MCE2 to work, and there is probably someone out there that has these skinned.

There are two alternatives that look very similar to the original MCE2 skin.

If you wouldn't mind being a "tester", would you consider trying out the Community skin? (See link in signature)

It is somewhat a testbed for new ideas, and could be an adequate replacement for MCE2. It has skins for every plugin but the XRecord suite right now.

I am not suggesting it just because I helped create it, it is meant to look similar to MCE2 in its default form. The task images right now aren't the same, but that will be changing.

The Advisor skin also has MCE2 themepacks, but I am not sure those two plugins are supported. You would have to try that out to see.

I'm using MCE2 and love it. It gives me the clear and clean design I wanted (basically been using the default Blue most of the time).

I also changed it (as per a WAF request...) to not scroll the Main Menu as it was (so the selected item stayed in the middle). That was easy.

Only thing I like about Blue that I don't have here is that I can use the "i" button on the Hauppauge to get back from TV to main menu and still see the TV in the medium size frame. Any option to "configure" or tweak MCE2 to show TV in main menu?
* Rogers Analog Cable [Canada]
* Hauppauge WintTV PVR USB2
* IBM Thinkpad T42 / 1GB Mem / Centrino 1.6Ghz / 60GB HD / ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 + VGA/DVI out
* MCE Remote + Keyboard
* Win XP SP2 / GBPVR [Latest version. always]
* Pioneer HDTV via VGA (1360x768)
* MS Remote Keyboard
* Logitech Harmony 880 [via MS Remote Control Reciever]

Add this to the main menu

<SpecialElement name="Inset" loc="90,160" size="240,180" />

tweak size and location to suit.

Hi,

Running 98.13, I was originally running 96.12.
I want to use BlueMCE2 as this is the skin I had for 96.12. I've downloaded and installed BlueMCE2X but certain areas, such as Search Guide won't work as the skin directory is missing the _CoreImages directory.

Am I supposed to be copying files from elsewhere to complete the install? Its not that clear to me how skinning works any more.

Cheers,

Simon

Copying over the _CoreImages folder from blue will get rid of the errors, but will not look like BlueMCE2.

funny, i just discovered the same issue with BlueMCE2 and search. up until now i guess i had always been using the web interface for searches. the problem is that GBPVR is not recognizing the skin.xml file in the search directory (a version tag issue) so it is defaulting to the one found under "Blue". this has pointers to the "_coreimages" directory and it all falls apart.

i have hacked together a BlueMCE2 search skin that seems to work and looks the part. replace the one in the "search" directory under BlueMCE2 with this one (after removing the *.txt extension...)
