I have a bunch of DVD's that I have ripped to hard drive via dvd decrypter. It rips them to Video_TS folders. What plug-in do I want to use to play them back on my computer from those folders, and how do I install that plug-in. I am new to this program and I don't understand batch files and all that stuff. All I want to do is be able to play the DVD's from the folders, and I would like to be able to get the cover art, catalog info, etc. I DO NOT need or want the ability to re-burn these to DVD or anything like that, since I already have the DVD's and just don't want them destroyed by my 5-year old.

What plugins do I need, and how exactly do I install them? Thanks for any help.

you shouldnt need anything extra just to play them back via GBPVR. Im fairly sure if you just add your DVD folder to the video library list of folders in the config program, then you should be able to simply browse to those folders in the Video Library screen, and hit play and they'll play.
As for the cover art and catalog info, take a look at the wiki (theres a link from http://www.gbpvr.com to get you there) and theres a few video plugins which will do what you are looking for to varying degrees. Which one you use is down to personal preference. Video Archive and My Videos are the most popular ones.

I asked this same question a little while ago (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18795)
and got this answer.

"All releases other than v0.97.13 can play directory based DVDs aswell, but a bug in the new media library screen in this version made this not possible. I've corrected it for the next release"

Is the new release out already?

Does not make any difference on my system. Just boots WinDVD which just sits there. I had really high hopes for this program.

It works fine here. I cant see why it would possibly run WinDVD. Did you do this in the built-in Video Library screen? On v0.98.8? If so, when you navigate to a directory that contains a 'VIDEO_TS' folder, then it should you a name like 'Alien.dvd'. Pressing play on that fake file should start DVD playback

It actually doesn't appear to be working on mine either. I tried playing will either pull up the menu screen but I'm unable to navigate it or if I play one of the TS files it stops at the end of that chapter.

Are you talking about the built in video library screen? and you're using v0.98.8?

If you go into a directory that contains a VIDEO_TS directory, do you see a ".dvd" file listed?
