I have upgraded two PVR systems to 98.8. Both were prviously configured with web admin. I had shortcuts so I could control them both locally and remotely (In and out my home network)

After the upgrade, one PVR won't let me in through Web Admin.

I even upgraded to 45 from the wiki...

Attached is a txt file showing the displayed HTML from me accessing the web server from both in and outside my net...

I'm wondering what's going on with this...

Thanks

Check in the .net 2.0 configuration tool to see if this assembly is in the assembly cache..if not try re-adding it

I don't know where that tool is... (Of course I have 2.0 installed...)

if you look in Administrative tools from the control panel there is a link for Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Configuration
you can check the loaded assemblies in here to see if it is missing...
if all this seems too complicated you could also try re-installing the 2.0 framework..
The error seems to be that the GAC is missing the EnterpriseServices Assembly somehow.
The re-install should fix this but I'm not 100% positive since this has never actually happened to me.

I'll be looking at this. Thanks

I had a similar problem with webadmin after upgrading to 98.8. I had been running 97.13 with enhanced web admin just fine.

I had absolutely no response from the web admin server and referencing the page from Firefox from another computer on the LAN seemed to run my gbpvr box's CPU and memory usage very high. I had one BSOD, though I'm not sure that was the proximate cause.

After I repaired .Net 2.0 using the dotnetfx.msi installer, web admin seems to work fine.

98.8 was also giving me trouble skipping forward and backward and misreporting the length of programs, as well as skipping long stretches--minutes--in the midst of a 3.5 hour recording (confirmed by replaying file on the other machine).

However, a 1 hour program recorded just fine. But I was also seeing small glitches--momentary pauses, freezes--when playing back programs recorded with 97.3, as well as the 1 hour program that recorded fine.

Both problems were present both on my MVP and the main system.

After repairing the .Net 2.0 framework, at least some of the short glitches during playback are gone--I was able to identify the same spot where a glitch had reliably been occuring and it no longer did after the repair.

Now all this may be related to the Hauppauge timestamp problem as I have a PVR 150 and a PVR 500. But I am doing another long recording test tonight after installing the .NET 2.0 framework and before messing with the Hauppauge drivers--one change at a time. Maybe it is just the .Net 2.0 Framework after upgrading to 98.8? I'll report back tomorrow.

I'm sure the problem will be related to the Hauppauge timestamp bug.

Perhaps it is still related to the driver issue, but my skip/length issue appears to have been solved by repairing .Net 2.0. I don't know why, or if the two matters are somehow related.

My hauppauge drivers are all version 2.043.24103 dated 4/13/2006 on both the PVR-150 and the PVR-500. I haven't updated them--they were what I originally installed.
