Hello everyone.

This is the problem I am having:

While recording a program, I am trying to watch something that was previously recorded (or the recording in progress, but from the beginning). After some time (it varies) the screen becomes solid green color. Audio is still there, but no video. If I stop the playback, and start it again, it will be fine for several minutes before going green again.

I am using Hauppage PVR150 card.

Thanks for any thoughts,

The recordings are ok? Sounds like a hardware thing to me, maybe heat?

Recordings are fine, no problems.

I don't even have a media case yet, just runing it in the regular MiniATX tower.

I have AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (1.4Hz) and 512Mb or RAM.
GForce video with 128Mb RAM.

I think the videocard could very well be running hot, maybe dusted or defective fan?

I will definetely check the fan/dust/temperature issue as I will be moving the whole setup into HTPC case soon.

However, wouldn't this behaviour show up during ANY playback in this case? I thought that video card is not being used during recording, PVR150's HW MPEG encoder does the work during the recording phase.

Afaik this doesn't happen during recording (recordings were ok you stated), but during playback, how else would you know they went green?Smile

some more: That's exactly the time it's being used.
The 150 adds to the temperature too.

edit: sorry I misread this one, I thought you said: ...does not work...
However doesn't change my statement much.

Thanks!
The new case should improve the temperature inside, it has two big fans in the back and one in front. But I have a feeling my overall CPU/RAM/Motherboard might just be too slow to do everything at once (record and playback).
