I've got GBPVR installed, but my trouble starts when I try to launch the Configuration. I've tried reinstalling the .Net framework multiple times, ran the Windows Update Utility to ensure that I have nothing needing updating, and also reinstalled GBPVR. Nothing worked. I'm running Windows 2000. Help!Sad

Here's the details of the error message:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Since your on Win2K you also need Microsoft MDAC 2.6. Do you have it installed? It is a requirement when running on Windows 2000.

You may also find your need to upgrade your video of Windows Media Player.

Do you mean to just update the version of WMP, or is there a pack of codecs that I need to get?

No, its not the codecs, its the actual Window Media Player software. GB-PVR uses it for visualisations.

GB-PVR is made for Windows XP, which uses a newer version of WMP than Windows 2000 has.

But it will work with 2000, right? The Wiki lists it as being compatible.

I'll install MDAC 2.6 and update WMP tonight. Thanks for all the help!

I've just tried and failed with gbpvr .98.8b on my tablet PC running windows 2000 pro.
To make life easier I just installed W2K on a spare drive on my main machine. Same result.

Fresh install of w2k sp4. Installed installer v3, installed Net2, installed mdac, installed gbpvr. When it launches config.exe i get a net2 error box (Sorry, I don't know NET very well so don't know how to save/dump the long error msg seen at the top of this thread).
Here's the config.exe.log

Do you have .NET 1.1 installed?
Do you have .NET 2.0 installed?

You can have both installed at once. Control both through

click on start
click on run
type: services.msc

scroll down for .NET services trigger either: Started or Stopped

Try that, if that still doesn't do it then, you might consider and upgrade to XP pro?

The error message for me is coming from .NET 2 so I assume it is up and running.

.NET2 installed
the only entry under services is .NET optimisation and is set as manual. This is the same as my working XP system.

I can't really upgrade my tablet PC - a copy of XP is more than it is worth and it only has 256mb of memory and that is it's limit - hardly enough for XP.

I wonder if anyone has GBPVR recent versions requiring NET2 running under win2k??.
