on sunday i had a football game. my local provider said the eagles were playing on channel 215. so i scheduled gbpvr to record said game when it started. when i returned home, i notice that said game was changed to channel 214. now i was unable to cancel the recording to watch the game which was still in progress. in a fit all i could do was cancel the service (end task) and watch the remainder of the game straight from the cable box to the tv, bypassing the pvrbox.

now, i would like to know if there is a proper way to cancel a recording that is currently in progress.

thanks.

You can cancel a recording from the pending recordings button of the recordings screen

also if you just started a new recording I beleive it would give you the option to cancel the old one in order to start the new one

see the problem was.....i would try and start gbpvr to attempt those options, but the interface would not appear. thus the "end task" option was the one i pursued.

*edit*

should one be able to watch the program while it's being recorded? because whenever i record a show, gbpvr seems to lock me out. which led to the above senario.

You should definitely be able to watch a program being recorded..especially with the specs you seem to have.
You would just go into the pending recordings page and choose the show being recorded.
