A lot of times I will be recording back to back to back shows on the same channel. Let's say I am recording 4 - 30 minute shows all back to back on the same channel. When the first show is finished, it will stop the recording and start the 2nd show. The problem here is that it still changes the channel even though the 2nd show is on the same channel as the 1st. The problem this causes is there is now a 2 second gap during the channel change.

Is there any way to tell GBPVR not to change channels if recording is being done on the same channel in back to back recordings?

I know I could setup a manual record for the entire 2 hours on that one channel, but then the episodes wouldn't all get put into the database and I wouldn't be able to setup scheduled recordings that way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Mike.

No there isnt.

It wouldnt usually take two seconds though. I guess you using an external set top box? If so, you'll probably just need to live with it.

Yes, I am using an external box with USB-UIRT. So if I was to do the manual 2 hour record on that channel and then cut out the different episodes into 4 different files, what would be the best way to manually get those episodes into the database so they show in my recordings and such with descriptions of each episode?

I know I have used an import recordings program in the past, but that was to import everything and not just a few recordings.

You can create a recordings-dump.xml file that only contains a few shows if you want. Just take a look at the file as an example of the format, then hack it to contain references to your manually cut files.

Thanks sub. I think that will work for me. The only thing I don't quite get in that file is the <uid></uid> part. I believe it is an identifier for that particular episode, but does that section need to be filled in and if so can I just put anything in there?

You can just leave it empty if you want.

Thanks, and what a quick reply I must say. You do some great work around here. This program just keeps getting better and better with each passing day.
