I use a UPnP client/control point connected to a TV. The GBPVR computer is in another room and runs a UPnP server. They are connected with 100mbit wired ethernet.
Are there other people using a UPnP setup?

Never heard of UPnP client/control. How does it work?
Currently I have a standard tower PC behind my RPTV. I'd like to go compact but I want to still have CPU power for processing.

erik, some people in this forum are using TVersity UPnp server and some RF extender. Try a forum search with TVersity.

I have a D-Link DSM-320 as my UPnP renderer. I also have an MVP, which rarely gets used, and then usually to get more details on a show I am looking for so that I can end up playing it through the DSM-320. The MVP was for the bedroom, but I haven't wired any ethernet there yet.

MVP for watching in this household. PC for tidying things up and checking the schedules as the mouse/keyboard is easier to use than a remote.
GBPVR runs on my main machine and I don't notice any problems either way - except I have to be careful if I want to reboot for any reason.

My computer is only about 4 meters away from my lounge so I have it hooked up to my HDTV and audio system. I love it
Wife likes it as its easy to use but the best part is my daughter. She's only 4 but thanks to My Videos thumbnails she able to choose and play her own movies without calling us to put them on for her In fact now that v0.98.8 is here I put a client version on her PC and she now watches everything from her PC without calling us

The two programs ( Tversity and GBPVR) work fine side by side on the same server and I can stream music to the MP101 and TV to the MVPs at the same time.... .... I love this system!

I have an MVP attached to a 42" HDTV in my living room.
I have a 2 year old PC as a GBpvr server attached to a 10 year old SDTV in my basement. This pc does all the recording, processing and storage. It is only attached to the sdtv and a remote. It has no keyboard, mouse or real monitor. I run a GBpvr client on my desktop/work computer - also in the basement. I use 98.8 client setup on this pc to do most of the scheduling etc. I also run tightvnc on my desktop since it is so hard to see anything in windows on the sdtv attached to the server. I almost never watch anything on the pc.
