v0.98.8 keeps on crashing

great work on GB-PVR so far, sub

but after i updated to 0.98.8 last night, ive been constantly getting problems

first i was getting this problem

i fixed that by copying the master config.xml and pasting into the regular config.xml

this morning after i restarted my comp, GBPVR client would not run
the recordingservice in the tray seems to be fine

just when i start the actual GB-PVR, microsoft would show me this message

sometimes it would load up the client but when i click on anything, it would crash again

Sorry, I dont really know. It doesnt give me much to go on.

i know the logs dont say much either because they simply didnt record anything when the program crashes

So this happens every time you try running the GB-PVR executable? Do you actually see the user interface and do something, or does it crash immediately?

Does the gbpvr.exe.log date time reflect the current time when this crash occurs? ie does it create a log before crashing, or is this just a log from the past when it used to run?

ie: log stops recording right at when crash happens

this happens everytime i start GB-PVR exec
i see the interface but right after 3~4 seconds i see it, it crashes without me clicking on anything

ive tried repairing the installation with the install file
that didnt help

should i try complete uninstall and reinstall?

Yeah, its probably worth trying that. I cant see anything obvious in the logs.

Another thing you might try first is deleting any .DLL files in the plugins directory.

ok i deleted all the skins and plugins that i installed

seems to be fine now...

sry for the headache
but as for the advisor skin, do i just extract everything into skins folder using winzip's "use folder names"?
