I was wondering if someone has a quick fix for me...

This week on Boston Legal, Comskip marked everything as commerical before the actual show started. That's too good. I would like to see the "Last time, on Boston Legal" stuff... (I could live with out this - It's my own fault I don't remember what happened last season...)

Also, last week's "Survivor", Comskip cut off the very end...

Basically, after last commercial, there's a Station News Brief, Station ID, more commericals, and then "Next week on Survivor" followed by the credits...

On Survivor, during the credits, you hear the last words of the guy/gal voted out...

Are there some settings in comSkip, I could change?

Thanks

Stolen from comskip part of wiki:

Quote:ComSkip with its default settings may work for you. There are however many differences in broadcasting that may require dedicated tuning. A tuning guide has been written and can be downloaded from http://mk.kaashoek.com/ComSkip/files/tuning.htm The gbpvr forum also contains a lot of information on tuning ComSkip. Search on ‘ComSkip’ and ‘tuning’ To facilitate the tuning the newest version by Erik has a debugwindow in which you can see what ComSkip is doing while processing the file and after processing you can review the results by browsing through the mpeg file frame by frame or by jumping to certain relevant locations in the file. The functions of the debugwindow are described in detail in http://mk.kaashoek.com/ComSkip/files/debugwindow.htm

ahh yes.. but that isnt the easiest thing in the world to use (the debug window) .. LOL

... there IS a setting in the newer versions to allow for end of show commercials to remain.. so you can see whats next and the opening minute of the show to come on next... pretty sure that is what you want..

comskip forums have been pretty dead... is there a good place to share/pickup tuning ideas that are already in practice?

Seriously,

Sharing is difficult because of personal preferences influencing the tuning.
Some people like the credits, others hate them.
Black and sound levels differ.

Also many people, once having a well tuned setup, tend to forget about Comskip Smile and do not spend any further time on it.

My own production setup is ages behind the latest builds but because it works I don't bother.

Wish I had the time to make a nice windows userinterface to do the tuning in. :o
Althoug someone that can make a nice ini file editor (some examples in VB do exist, I have them if you are interrested) will already help.

I have never got comskip working, particually well as I guess I have not invested enough time to tune it properly.

Recently I have noticed (when cutting in womble) that many channels (in the UK) no longer have black frames or silence on the ad break. A deliberate ploy me thinks...

Chinese broadcast do the same. Some elaborate tuning brought some success.

I was able to create a wrapper that I use with VB6, to quick access/edit your ini... I use it to change a couple of values in ComSkip.ini and ComClean.bat from within ZProcess...

I was planning on making a Tuning launcher from within ZProcess also. Alas, Time has become scarce...

Thanks to all... I'll give the suggestions a shot
