hi,
I have a PVR-150mce, all set up on the newest version of GBPVR. However when I click liveTV every channel has two black bars down each side...
I have tried intervideo, Nvidia VMR9 7 custom etc...
Any ideas?

How big are the black bars?

On a 17 inch Computer monitor, I'll see 1/4 - 1/2 inch bar sometimes. It has something to do with broadcast standards in some of the cases, others, it might be the aspect ratio (F7) is adjusted incorrectly. Try Pressing F& and see if the picture readjusts...

My TVs never have that problem, but there is much more overscan with Telesion sets.

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

There is a couple of possible reasons...

1) You've got your TV shape set to 16:9. The PVR150 produces 4:3 records, so these are pillar boxed to retain the original aspect ratio (ie, adds black bars at the sides). If this is the case, and you prefer 4:3 content to be stretched to fullscreen on a 16:9 display, then you can adjust the 'pillar box' aspect ratio in config.xml to 0,0,1,1.

2) or you're just seeing black bars that are part of the picture. Usually tv pictures do have a small black bar on both sides of the picture, but you dont usually notice it because the overscan of a typical TV means these bars are off the side of the screen. This is usually compensated for in GB-PVR by either adjusting the overscan settings on your video card's TV out, or by adjust either the zoom or overscan settings in the config.xml file.
