MVP won't play the sound on the WMV files

Hi Forum,

My MVP will play the wmv files, but only the video portion comes through. The sound never shows up.
Any ideas on how to get both out of the MVP.

Do your wmv files play properly on the GBPVR computer using Windows Media Player?

If so, you probably need to try a different audio decoder in GBPVR config.

the WMV may also be using a audio format that ffmpeg can't read so it can't transcode it for the MVP...
check to see what audio format is in the WMV and see if ffmpeg supports it for reading...i remember some of them weren't supported yet..

Yes, the files run fine on the computer just not the MVP. Will check that out and try a different decoder. Any ideas as to which decoder may be a good alternative?

Used Hauppauge decoder, but I still have the problem. Anyone have a suggestion as to what decoder to use?

I dont really have any suggestions to get the current mechanism working, but I've recently made some changes to the way WMV playback is done on the MVP, so try it again in the next release.

writebac... my config is set up to use 'system default' for all decoders. That may or may not work for you.
