Hi,

I'm updating to the most recent version of TheaterListing and have a question about automatic updating. With the old version, I had a line in Postupdate.bat that would run GetListings.exe. Thus my movie data was updated automatically each day just after GBPVR's EPG was updated.

I now see, in the latest version of the plugin, that GetListings.exe code has been merged into the plugin code and an "update" feature has been added to the configuration dialogue box. It seems that I need to set a time for the update, but I'd just like it to update after the EPG has finished rather than a set time. Can this be done?

Some question I have are: What happens if the TheaterListing update is set to the same time as the wake-up for GBPVR's EPG updating? Would there be a conflict? Do I need to remove the old line from Postupdate.bat and the Getlistings.exe file?

Thanks.

good programming practice dictates that you should remove the reference to the nonexistant file which will cause a warning.

in reality, it doesnt matter, all that will happen is it will try to call the file, say "'Getlistings.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." and keep right on doing whatever it is that you told it to do in the file.

The file "Getlisting.exe" exists. It is in the \gbpvr directory. It is used with the "older" TheaterListings plugin that I am currently using. I assume you are implying that I should delete it as part of the upgrade process to the latest version?

lol sorry I was being a geek, and I thought that on upgrade it deleted the file, I guess I deleted mine during one of my get rid of all the crap I dont use binges.

but yeah all the code for updating the listings is now inside the plugin, so you should be able to delete the old files. try it, if it doesnt work, put them back

oh and as for your other question, I am pretty sure that you cant update the theater listings with a batch file anymore, so no, you couldnt do it after the epg update finishes anymore. Brian_W would be able to tell you for sure

Don't use the external gettheaterlistings.exe anymore. I made some tweaks to the xml structure in the new version and the .exe file will output the old way. Just remove the reference from your epg post update batch file. There shouldn't be a conflict with doing the epg update at the same time other than pumping more data over your pipe. If you want, schedule the theater update 10 minutes or so after the epg update, that way they will be done separately.

just fyi the epg update time is randomized.
so if it is set for 3am it will pick a time at 3am then do it some time between 3:05 and 3:50 ? not sure about exact time.

I think that if it is set for the same time as the epg update then it should be done before the epg is even started

If Fandango doesn't have listing for Germany, then at this point no. I do plan on adding international support in the future, but lately I just haven't had time to work on it at all.

There is an Plugin for MediaPortal, myHTPC and Meedio, it calls: myKino from http://sloty32.homepage.t-online.de/mykino/

It´s only for GermanTrailers.
The Trailers and Infos stored in a myKino.my file.
This is an textfile like this:

[1]
title=7 Zwerge
subtitle=Der Wald ist nicht genug
overview=NA
produced=Deutschland 2006
duration=Verleih: UIP
released=uellen Top-Scorer
chain=Preview,"mms://stream.kino.de/video/clipfile/mlorigin/09007411.wmv"
category=Genre,Komödie
category="-Neustart in 4 Wochen","Kino n/a"
[2]
....

Is there any way to use this with gbpvr ???
