Hi All,
Iâm having some trouble getting gbpvr running over my wifi network. The problems i am having I believe are with the wireless set up as i have tried 3 versions of gb pvr and not a lot has changed with the way things are working (I am now on the latest release & have stuck to the blue skin for now). The problems I am getting are -
1. Slow connection to server and load up application in the startup screen when turning on MVP this some times takes several minutes and occasionally the MVP canât pick up the server at all and starts up afresh.
2. MVP remote response is slightly erratic scrolling the menus can sometimes be hard work up to several seconds delay between icons it seems to get worst the further down the menu I scroll. There is also a long delay between channel changing.
3. bad live TV picture, the picture and sound is stuttery, since upgrading to the latest gb pvr release I donât really get picture just very stuttry few frames and sound this improves on some channels but is unwatchable. On recordings though the playback is ok.
4. I can see my music database on screen but canât get play back this has only just happened since the new release I was able to get playback before.
5. The MVP sometimes restarts this can be pretty random watching live TV or doing something else but only when the remote is being used to change channel or select something.
Some features work ok like the weather plugin, news feeds and cinema listings.
I have a fairly standard system 3200+, 1 GB ram, msi mother board with gigabyte Ethernet running xp pro. This is connected to a linksys wrt154gl that runs open source dd-wrt, this connects to a linksys wirelessG bridge, then the MVP to the TV. The MVP model is 86202 rev h3 lot 2106 I havenât updated the MVP software.
I have no experience with wi-fi or networking all I have done is increase the strength of the wifi signal using DD-WRT interface and the signal strength is fine (besides I live in a small flat with cardboard walls). There are lots of different options in the DD-WRT interface it seams really good software but I donât know where to start to get the MVP working well, I would really appreciate some good advice.
Regards Stuart.
