Hi, I am using the GBPVR software for a while with the Hauppauge PVR 350. First of all i want to thank for this great software and I am glad that I can still use this card for the video output even with the version 0.97.13.

In order to record an watch the digital DVB-C channels, I receive via cable in Germany (Hessen), I bought a Twinhan DTV Cab-CI card (Modell 2033, Mantis). This card works properly with its drivers and software. The Twinhan softwqare tells me, that all digital channels I recieve via cable have rate of 6900 an the QAM is 64. I installed the newest driver for this card, the DTV-DVB Mantis BDA Receiver Version 1.0.2.4 with the file MtsBda.sys.

The card is recognized by the GBPVR-configuration using the BDA-Recording Plug-in. I set the Transmitter setting to "All Freqencies (6.900 MBd SR)". After that I grabbbed the EPG-Source by the xmltv-Plug-in using tv_grab_de_tvtoday.

Then i clicked "Map digital channels to EPG channels". The scan started. With a few freqencies I go strength from 2 to 11 and a quality up to 81. However the preview window remained black and no channels were found. Another scanning ended with a sudden ending of the configuration-program.

What can i do, to get the twinhanDTV Cab-CI card to work with gbpvr?

Try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file.

This device does work with GB-PVR, but you'll only be able to view channels that are not encrypted.

Goodevening,

I also have a configuration with a PVR 350 and next to it a twinhan dvb-t mantis card. This card has a CI module and my smartcard (I do pay for the pay-channels) is in that module. Do I understand right that although I have a valid smartcard I cannot use this card within GBPVR? And if so.... are you planning this for future releases?

At this moment GBPVR does recognize the card but finds no channels. But that could have another cause as the original twinhanDTV software only found channels once in 4 days. So I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Kind regards,

Correct. There is currently no support for using CAM modules with GB-PVR.

Hopefully one day I'll be able to include this feature. I dont know when that will be though.

Yeah, that sounds like poor reception or something similar.

Hi Sub,

Although for me no good news I would like to thank you for your swift answer and even more for creating gbpvr, I've been using it with lots of pleausure for the last year. Thank you for all your effort and hopefully cam-support will be a future feature.
