The problem reoccurred when I starting using my MVP again. This time I applied the Hauppauge timestamp registry fixes. It appears to have solved the misreported length problem again.

I'm having a similar problem not being able to access the web admin.

Here's the error I get when trying to connect locally:

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
Parser Error
Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Please specify the assembly explicitly in the type name.

I've tried reinstalling .NET 2.0 and GBPVR, but it didn't fix it.

Ideas?

Also, I can't find the "Configuration Tool" for .NET 2.0 -- but I've read on other postings on the internet that you have to install the whole SDK (300MB) for .NET from Microsoft's website to get it! The redistributable package doesn't include it...

Do you have a gbweb.dll file in the web\bin directory? If so, remove it.
if not try clearing out your cache as well..

On this last point: if you get the SDK msi, you can browse msi archives using many freeware tools. I use the msi plugin for total commander. But there's no guarantee you can get the config tool to work without other parts of the SDK installed...

Did you reboot multiple times in between? You might have to uninstall gbpvr and uninstall .net 2.0, then reboot, then reinstall .net 2.0, reboot, reinstall gbpvr. I find when I skip reboots, sometimes the dll cache doesn't get flushed properly. M$ can sure be a pain in the ass.

I deleted the gbweb.dll file from the web\bin directory -- it's working now!

Thanks,
S.
