Thanks for the heads-up hylandgj. I re-uploaded the file. The version is listed on the third line as requested. You may have to clear your web cache or hold down shift when clicking on the file to get the new version. The noodml option worked for me when creating AVI's larger than 1 GIG. Good luck.

Is there a way to define a filesize based on show length? I.e all half-hour sitcoms come out to 175MB. I know it's all about bitrate, but I like to have a constant file size for specific shows.

You would have to choose the 2pass profile and specify the size in the config. The way the script is now, you would need different scripts for different sized files. (IE: One script for 30 min shows, one for 60min show, etc.) If you're using dirmon you can set up a different processor for each script and assign program directories by the show length.

Reply if you have any questions.

Great program BTW! Easy to use!

Just have a few questions...

This is the contents of the folder after a manual test recording was done.

Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.edl
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.log
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.logo.txt
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.mpg
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.txt
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.avi
Z:\PVR\Manual Recordings\Married With Children Test_20061012225000.dne

Here is my user-defined settings...
set mencoder_path=C:\Progra~1\mplayer\mencoder.exe
set mplayer_path=C:\Progra~1\mplayer\mplayer.exe
set comskip_path=C:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\comskip.exe
set recordings_path=Z:\PVR
set file_delete=yes
set mpegbitrate=5000
set testmode=no
set turbomode=yes
set debugmode=no
set comskipmode=yes
set cleanup=yes
set noopendml=no
set profile=standard

Now, how come my original .mpg file is not deleted? Also, are the rest of the files necessary as well? I assume that some are to assist with channel skipping in GBPVR, just not sure which ones can be deleted.

Hi DarkCanuck,

What version of the script are you using? Your config suggests 0.2 which is the latest.

The script is configured to ignore any delete configuration options if it's set in test mode. Although you do have test mode disabled, earlier versions of the script would automatically go into test mode if the filename or path contained the string "test." Try removing "test" from the mpeg name and see if it gets deleted after transcodong. If it doesn't, put the script in debug mode and post it here. I'll take a look at it. It may just be an issue with the spaces in the program name.

Setting the comskip ini "delete_logo_file=1" should get rid of the logo files.

The EDL file gets deleted the next time the script runs after the MPG is deleted.

GBPVR will delete the TXT file after you deleted the show from the DB or you can set dirmon to delete the file by adding the extension to the Target Extensions box. The same can be done with the DNE file. If you're not using Dirmon, the next release of the script should have an option to clean up the files.

Hope this helps.

Hello -stattik-

I'll give it a shot. 2 questions..
Where is the log stored when I put it in debug mode?
When will the next release be done?

Just set the debug mode in the script and drop a mpeg on it. It will step you though the process. The script is done when you see the following message:

Code:
::      #### Script is finished ####
echo Script is finished.

Then copy and paste it here, or zip it up and attach it.

The new version will take some time as there's some major changes planned. If you have a simple request, perhaps an update could be posted.

Hi,

I'm having trouble transcoding my HDTV dvr-ms files. Transcoding of .mpg files works perfectly, but when I try to do dvr-ms, I get incorrect file sizes as well as really bad transcodings (mencoder crashing, choppy, garbled, etc).

Is there a setting somewhere I need to indicate dvr-ms vs. mpg?

Mencoder chokes on dvr-ms files that contain HD video and AC3 audio. With some changes I can get mencoder to correctly encode the video but it incorrectly flags the audio as pcm and either nothing is heard or it's static. You'll have to have GBPVR transcode dvr-ms files to mpg to get the best results.

Hello,

When I run the script I get a seperate window with these errors:

10 - Taxicab Confessions 2001 All's Fare in Love
'Vegas' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
c:/windows/fonts/arial.ttf doesn't look like a font description, ignoring.
Cannot load font: c:/windows/fonts/arial.ttf
'304390' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Any idea what this means? The filename was "10 - Taxicab Confessions 2001 All's Fare in Love & Vegas (03-25-2001).mpg"

Even with this extra window popping up, it works great!

Also, how can I add support for the iRiver H340?

Thanks!
