Hi sub!

I experienced sometimes an error while and/or after watching 1 or more DVDs within GB-PVR.

The following situation:
I have planned via TV-Guide 2 recordings. The first 05:00pm-05:30pm and the second from 05:30pm-06:00pm.

I can do nearly all with GB-PVR and the recordings will be done fine. Watch LiveTV, watch Movies from Harddisk (DivX/XviD, MPEG-2, MPEG-1) without any problems. But: If i watch one "real" DVD, or more, then the recordings will fail. Not only that, if i try after this to watch LiveTV, then i get an error Message like "Connection not possible" (i hope i remember the message right).

For now i have no LOG's saved, but have an entry from the Management Console Eventviewer:

I could read, that the GB-PVR App hang sometimes up. And with watching DVDs i had a few more problems: Some DVDs couldn't even played with GB-PVR (WMP did without any problems), they stopped in the intro (DVDs are of course all in perfect condition).

Do you have any idea? I'll try to capture next time all the logfiles from GB-PVR.

Are you using your system default decoder in gbpvr? Wonder if it was because you were trying to use your mpeg decoder twice?

Out of interest what decoder are you using?

Seems to work fine with mine, nvidia and dscaler! So maybe i'm wrong!
I'm not always wrong!Big Grin

From what I can read from the message, it says that a socket is already in use....

Maybe you're running another application that uses the same socket or somehow you're trying to run a second instance of "GBPVRRecordingService"...

Maybe have a look with "netstat -an" and see if ports 5900/4664 (that's the ones I see on my system) are in use...

Mhm, i am using the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder. It shouldn't be used twice, at least at the first error message.
I got these errors really often, if i watch DVD. GB-PVR seems to have big problems to play different DVD's. Some newer DVD's aren't even playable (but within WMP itself no problems), even both uses the same settings/decoders and filters.

Yep, that's right. The problem here is: The usage comes ONLY from GB-PVR itself, not from any other app! Like i described above: Nearly everytime if i watch DVD inside GB-PVR while recording a movie.
Meanwhile it's a little bit annoying to restart GB-PVR and the Recordingservice everytime after watching/recording... Sad

Yep, but not many since my upgrade to 98.08. Currently i am using the WeatherPlugin, DVD Ripper, G-Mail Plugin and, let me think..., the TV-Listing.

But the problems didn't started with 98.08, i had them many versions before, but thought that GB-PVR is WiP and the problems with playing back some DVD's will be fixed.

New, since 98.08, are the messages like hangig up the application, or just the errormessage with the multiple used Netsockets.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
