- this really should be bundled as an optional install with the main program.

Totally agree with that.

Latest Build

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LU5QV1P1

dazzyb2k3 Wrote:1. The most major one is that when I bring up the details popup in the TV guide I just have red X's where the buttons should be (I would provide a screenshot but i'm at work at the mo - but i'm sure you know what I mean). This is the same regardless of button style or theme. Out of interest I tried the TV listings plugin an this works OK. I suspect the TV guide is looking in the wrong place for the images but i'm not sure how to correct it.

Fixed

dazzyb2k3 Wrote:2. On the recordings screen is there any way to increase the amount of entries in the list? Each entry seems unusually wide and I have a lot of recordings and only having 4 listed means a lot of scrolling!

I have been playing around with ways for text to work with both standard size fonts and larger "HiVis" fonts. The 4 was due to larger fonts. I put it back to 7 for std themes and now HiVis themes give you 4. This is somewhat of a work in process as I get more feedback.

dazzyb2k3 Wrote:3. It would be nice if there was an option to enable/disable the GBPVR logo on the man menu. There are certain combinations that make the background look really cluttered with the logo there.

If you want a version of the MCE2 main menu without the logo (or any other custom edits), go to the ".\gbpvr\skin\skinplugin\mainmenus" folder and Copy the menu style to a different name (ie MyMCE2).

Then edit the ".\gbpvr\skin\skinplugin\mainmenus\MyMCE2\Main Menu\skin.xml" file.

To remove the logo, delete the line:
<DrawImage filename=".\logo.png" loc="340,250" size="351,260" />

You can then remove the logo.png file from that folder as well.

Maybe "Logo" images will become a selection part of the CommonImages set in the future, that way they can be changed or toggled.

There are some other image changes on the horizon, once McBainUK gets settled in and has more free time, there a some things that we can address with the plugin.

Fatman, you are a legend. I never expected a result so quickly!!

Even after all this time I'm always amazed by the GBPVR community.

Can't wait to get home and give it a try.

Thanks for the comments guys, but it is feedback, comments, and suggestions that make this work.

Thinking more on the challenges of having the xml's work for both standard fonts and larger fonts, I am thinking my latest approach might need to be changed. The areas that are needed for text, along with word-wrap, pose composition challenges.

I am considering breaking the skin into two separate ones. A standard version and large font version. Both will be part of the same download and be an install option.

Tv Guide and recording screens look great now!!

I also just noticed that there are no windows on the search screen. Looks a little empty at the moment lol

Hi Fatman,

I'm running in to a problem when using Community Skin that I'm not seeing with the Default Blue. Beyond this main problem, Community has been sweet.

It happens when I'm watching live TV, and try to record a show either by hitting the record button on my remote, or Ctrl-K from my keyboard. I do notice that timeshifting works fine, and I'm able to open TV Guide and then record from within the Guide the show I'm currently watching.

When I do that, GBPVR fails with this error:
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Boolean' to type 'System.String'

Here's a snippet of the GBPVR.exe.log file:

I thought it was GBPVR related, but Sub set me straight by asking me to try Blue, and that worked.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks!

Will look into it. May take me a day or two. Weekends are hard for me to find time.
