will GB Pvr Play MP4 files

Greetings:

Installed GB pvr lastnight very nice! I have a number of files for my ipod ripped from my dvd's. I have tried to play them with the video included in Gb, picture is fine but no sound. Is it possible to play these with Gb PVR?

Not sure if there is something special about mp4, but generally speaking, if the appropriate codec is installed on the machine, it will play. GBPVR doesn't do any file playing itself.

The problem is, that there are three (or more?) different MPEG-4 Formats outside. So you not ever know, which Decoder is the right one for Video or Audio.
Tools like GSpot are able to help to find out the used CoDec(s).

Generally, yes, GB-PVR will play .mp4 files. You'll need to install the appropriate MPEG4 decoders. You'll also need to install a directshow .MP4 splitter, like the haali splitter (google for it).
