After watching a video from my video library, when I stop the video the screen goes blank and the user interface never re-appears. I have to kill gbpvr from Task Manager to recover.

I'm running this on a laptop and I've configured gbpvr to run on the second monitor. I am using this with a Streamzap remote.

Any suggestions?

I've found that I can work around the problem if I hit PAUSE first before STOP. Hitting STOP directly causes the unrecoverable blank screen

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub,
I was having a similar problem last week with ffdshow and xvid files. I had to finally take ffdshow off of my computer and use a different codec. The strange thing is that I could play the videos fine in windows mediaplayer????

Dave

Ps. my logs are already up on the forums if you want me to send them to you also please let me know.

Yeah I remember. This is just a bug that can happen with ffdshow. I was just going to check his logs to see if he was using ffdshow. As you already know, removing ffdshow corrects the issue, which will be the same advise I'll give him if he is using it also. Various users have had this issue with ffdshow over the last two and half years of this project.

that's too bad, ffdshow does a good job. Is this possibly hardware related? Reason I ask is because I am in the market for a new video card and am wondering if that would fix my problem?

I dont really know what causes it. I dont use ffdshow myself, so never spent any time looking into it.

I installed the new version of gbpvr (99.12), but that didn't solve my problem. But I also installed the latest ffdshow (Nov 28, 2006) and it seems like that DID fix the problem. I can now stop videos safely. (Up until now, I had mapped one of my remote buttons to a task kill of gbpvr so I could recover when it locked up)

So this is good. Now I wish I could get the YouTube plugin to work...:p
