Hauppauge MCE remote support; volume control

I have the Hauppauge MCE remote kit (SMK-sourced USB beanbag) connected to my HTPC running v98.08b using the Wiki instructions to configure HIP, GB-PVR and the remote.

This setup works fine but I seem to be missing a lot of remote functions. At a minimum I'd really like to enable volume control and channel change through the rocker keys.

The Wiki claims that GB-PVR support is limited for my remote so I must use HIP. I know how to teach HIP my remote's keys, but am not clear on how to configure e.g. the volume function. It would also be nice to map particular keys to particular functions within GB-PVR, like Guide. How do the rest of you set your systems up?

I've got the same Hauppauge MCE remote plugged into my machine, and it works pretty well for me, including volume etc.

Did you remember to set the remote type to 'MCE Remote' in the config app?
