Live TV - Do I need an MPEG2 decoder?

I've formatted the HTPC and started installing the newest version of GBPVR. I've got a Hauppage PVR500 card, and have both tuners set up as separate capture sources, have the EPG updated, fiddled around with the channels, changed to VRM9 from Custom, searched around here unsuccessfully for an answer....nothing seems out of order, yet when selecting LiveTV, I get the following

"Failed to locate configured capture device"

Is an MPEG2 decoder required to view LiveTV? I thought that'd be needed for video playback, such as a DVD or movie files. Also, IIRC, Nero used to work for just such a purpose. Does that still apply, and installing Nero 7 would solve this, or do I have to find another program for MPEG2 decoding?

Yes it is. Live TV is effectively viewing the live stream of MPEG2 data coming of this capture device.

It might work for you, but not recommended. The Nero MPEG2 decoder causes problems for lots of users that have tried it.

I see the following list of supported decoders:

GB-PVR currently supports the following decoders:

* NVIDIA Video Decoder
* CyberLink Video/SP Decoder
* Elecard Mpeg2 Video Decoder
* MainConcept MPEG Video Decoder
* Sonic Cinemaster DS Video Decoder


Not being certain if those are the exact names or simply brand names, can you tell me if the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder would be considered the "NVIDIA Video Decoder"?

Naturally I can't find the discs that came with my DVD drives, but the CyberLink PowerDVD program is somewhere floating around my house.
