Hi Guys,

Things are generally well here, but I do have a problem I need help with.

I reformatted my hard drive, reinstalled the OS, and GBPVR version 0.98.13.

Auto commercial skip is not working. The setting in the config file appears to have no effect, enabled or disabled. Commercials never show up in the OSD time line and commercials are never skipped. The transport keys: FORWARD, REVERSE, SKIP FORWARD, and SKIP REVERSE; do not work.

I've attached my log files.

Thanks,
Old Dog

BTW, the recordings and comskip files are fine when viewed from my GBPVR client computer.

I'm using Showanalyser (version 7.11 I think) and GBPVR version 0.98.13 on the server. I'm not sure of the version on the client, but the recordings and comskip files do work ok on the client.

for some reason GBPVR reads the auto-skipping-setting as false while it is being set to true according to configexe.log. Maybe it has something to do with this bug: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21184

Can the mpeg demultiplexer have any bearing on this problem?

I modified config.xml to prefer the cyberlink splitter. When I realized I had this comskip problem, I rolled the config.xml back to prefer the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer. I just now realized that playback is still using the CyberLink splitter.

How can I get playback to go back to using the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer?

Thanks,
Old Dog

Yeah, I did notice that in your logs. It could be the problem.

Do you have <PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux>MPEG-2 Demultiplexer</PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux> (exactly) in your config.xml?

Yes, since I first noticed the problem, last night.
Code:
[SIZE="2"]
...
  <ForceSingleProcessorAffinity>true</ForceSingleProcessorAffinity>
  <!--<PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux>CyberLink MPEG Splitter(Scramble)</PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux>-->
  [B]<PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux>MPEG-2 Demultiplexer</PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux>[/B]
  <TryToGuessCaptureSources>true</TryToGuessCaptureSources>
...
[/SIZE]

The really simplistic XML parser I use in the native C++ doesnt understand commented out XML, so will still be using the Cyberlink demux. Remove that line altogether and it'll start working.

Sorry, I missed this post earlier.
I did try the AutoSkip settings both ways and it didn't work either way. If nothing else looks promising, I'll chase this one some more.

Thanks,
