sub in the next build can you change the page up/down buttons for the search guide from replay/skip to green/blue, just to make things constant.
cheers.

I like skip/replay better since they make more sense in the usage context. I'd rather see the plug-ins using green/blue buttons switch to using skip/replay. This leaves the colored buttons free for special, per-plug-in features, which to me makes more sense as a user. I've noticed that few plug-ins use skip/replay for page up and down and instead treat them as arrow forward and backwards.

I think this is due to a "bug" in the plug-ins where they process buttons by just looking at the keycode in the end. The skip and replay buttoins are control left and control right, but they are processed as if they were just left and right.

I think the problem here is that the skip buttons on the TVguide are used for skipping ahead and back a day. So the only buttons left were the colored ones. To me it would make more sense if plugins followed Sub's standard for features such as page up/down. After all the guide is the page I navigate the most, so it's more natural if plugins behave similar to the guide.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I also prefer using the skip buttons for this. The only reason I didn't use the skip buttons for page up/down in the tv guide, is because these keys were already user for day forward/back.

The color keys are a really bad idea for page up/down. They may be sensible on your existing PVR250 silver remote, but they're in a bad place on the MCE remote, and on the new Hauppauge remote (which is being sold with all new devices - and will soon become prevalent). On this last remote, the color keys are at the very bottom of the remote where they difficult to get to, and they're in a line, so there is no implied concept of up or down.

didn't think of others when I posted. But like I said before, all I want is page up/down on the guide when viewing through the MVP. I really don't care what buttons are used. I do agrre that it would be nice if we had some consitency between different function pages though. All I can say is that I'm really excited to be able to scroll a page at a time the guide. Thanks again for that.

ok can you add a checkbox in the config app to use these buttons if you wish, i find the skip button on the hauppauge remote are in a bad place for this, and the green/blue are in the perfect spot for this, which kinda goes against your reasoning for the other remotes.  and if you are playing a audio file pressing skip/replay changes track, which is just annoying.

I'm not going to add a checkbox. At some stage in the future I intended to implement a new command mechanism, so the various screens and plugins can handle more generic Command.Pageup/Command.Pagedown/Command.Left/Command.Play/etc... Then the user can map any key to any command, in effect making it user configureable. This probably a couple release away, and will be tied into changes in the remote control handling (allowing USB-UIRT/RedRat and any IR remote to work with GB-PVR).

For developers that are interested, all internal screen will support this from day one, but external plugins will need to implement a new interface or GB-PVR will fall back to using the existing key press based notification mechanism.
