Ok here it is, I have a amd 1800+ 1 gig of ram 10gig hd(which will have a 40 gig hd for storage/swap file) a hauppauge 500 and a msi fx5700le 256.

I've been working on this for days now and cant seem to get any further than I am. My problem is no video, i use the tunning assitant and it goes thru the channels with video and audio I have reinstalled a zillion times all driver all cards all programs and cant seem to get it too work I cant get live tv to work, watch show to work or anything. I click on watch show or live tv and get a flicker of the screen and audio of the channel but no video it just shows the gbpvr menu/interface. I feel it might be a video card issue but y can it show it on the tuner assitant and not the main program? I have direct x 9.0b installed (fx5700le doesnt support 9.0c) and all the newest drivers/programs for everything else. support for the hauppauge card sux, just says plug it in install drivers and away u go, like no one has had problems. Any help would be appreciated.

What video decoder are you using? Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

Well I guess I have it working, WOW!!!! and thanx for the timely response I have downloaded the new software codec from haupauge website after looking around for an hour I noticed it was different.

Next question should i be using this codec or the nvidia pure decoder? or are they for totally different things, such as playback and recording. my noobism is showing here.

Or leave well enough alone, I'm just happy as heck that its working. might monkey with it later.

Thank you very much again SUB for such a speedy (almost heroic like) response Smile

Its up to you really. Use the one that works best, and looks best to you.
