I'm running version 97.13.

I am 98% happy with the basic "blue" skin included with GBPVR.

I would like to always have the recording status displayed on the main page including listing what is currently recording (not just a red light etc).

Instead of the rotating "recording soon" display, I would prefer to just have the next 2 or 3 scheduled recordings listed on a static display.

Anyone aware of a skin that will do this?

Thanks

There is no display "panel" that provides this function.

(Edit, to clarify, this is in response to "I would prefer to just have the next 2 or 3 scheduled recordings listed on a static display.")

The VA Panel can be skinned to show the name of the currently recording show as well as (or in stead of) the recording now indicator.

The blue skin shows an example of this.

Thanks guys.

Do you know if there is a way to limit how far ahead the rotating "recording soon" display looks?

I really don't need to know about recordings coming up in 2 or 3 days.

I too liked the blue skin and was perfectly happy with it. I'm sure it offers a lot more, but what I noticed was that the community skin shows an icon on the main page to tell you that something is currently recording, current weather and stock prices (if you don't deselect them from the config file). It was also fun to try out different colours etc. I am still having trouble getting on-screen volume display but I am not sure where the problem lies; with the skin, with my installation of the plugin, my version of the config file or something else. I haven't had the time to figure it out yet. I think I will try switching back to the blue screen first.

In this VA Panel you can specify it in terms of number of hours. You select the Upcoming recordings information panel widget and then specify the lead time hours you want.

I think the community skin is doing this using the VA Panel. You can get this same function in any skin, but you need to edit the main menu skin.xml file to enable the VA Panel to have it be displayed. By default it is not enabled in the blue skin.

I have edited the panel portion of SpecialElements section of mine to say

Code:
    <!-- special elements -->
    <SpecialElements>
        <SpecialElement name="Buttons" loc="40,90" spacing="38" alwayCentered="false" maxVisibleButtons="7" allowTopBottomWrap="false" showNumbers="false"/>
        <SpecialElement name="TaskDescription" visible="true" loc="125,428" size="475,50" align="Center"/>
        <SpecialElement name="TaskImage" visible="false" animate="false" loc="460,100" size="300,300"/>
        <SpecialElement name="MoreUp" loc="95,69"/>
        <SpecialElement name="MoreDown" loc="95,360"/>
        <SpecialElement name="ForegroundTransparency" percent="80"/>
        <SpecialElement name="Inset" loc="257,88" size="398,269"/>

        <!-- plugin panels -->
        <!--<SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="Clock" visible="true" transparency="0.7" loc="210,10" size="330,70"/>-->
        <!--<SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="NextRecording" visible="true" transparency="0.7" loc="245,130" size="490,70"/>-->
        <SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="VAPanel" visible="true" transparency="1" loc="255,120" size="370,260"/>

    </SpecialElements>

Yeah, the community skin uses the VA panel for this, but in the first post bdgbill mentioned he was looking for more than the red indicator image that it provides.

Ah! I didn't know it was possible to modify the skins this way. I have seen screen shots with the weather displaying in the front panel but thought thy were completely diferent skins.

I am so reliant on GBPVR that I am scared to mess with it much. Think I will take an image of my system drive this weekend then start experimenting with skns and plug-ins.

That was what I was saying. You can do more than just the red indicator. The VAPanel CompositeImage now can now include a @Message text field which will display the name of the currently recording show. The vapanel.xml file for the Blue skin has been updated to use this.
