This will produce an mpeg video with mp2 audio.
If the Xvid file has the audio encoded as an mp3, which they often are, you can use this line:Code:ffmpeg -i "input file name here" -target ntsc-svcd -acodec copy "output file name here"

GUI4FFMPEG is the cat's PJ's for me. Mine seems to have that -acodec in the generated command line (this is from x264 to MPEG2/MP2)
Code:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Kristian\Desktop\gui4ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -i "E:\GBPVRVids\RugbyUnionNZvsEng061106\RugbyUnionNZvsEng061106.mp4" -target pal-dvd -b 6000 -aspect 4:3 -s 720x400 -padtop 88 -padbottom 88 [B]-acodec[/B] mp2 -ab 224 -ac 2 -mbd 2 -sameq -async 1 -y "E:\GBPVRVids\RugbyUnionNZvsEng061106\RugbyUnionNZvsEng061106_CelticDruid.mpg"

You MUST use Firefox or anotehr Browser, IE7 is banned) as the one with GUI4FFMPEG couldn't "do" H264 without crashing. Mr GUI4FFMPEG recommended using it with "-sameq" replacing the autogenerated "-qmin 2".
Quote:I added the directory it is in to my windows PATH environment variable, so that I can run it from a command line in any folder.Yeah, I just use MS's neat little "Open Command Window Here" powertool that adds a right click command line to a folder. Always makes me laugh WinXP shelling out to a DOS window... the irony :-).
