a few days ago, the Zap2it service changed. They aren't mapping the regular digital channel anymore, but instead are using the frequency assignment.

For example, my channel WFAA is on analog TV channel 8, digital 8.1, but it's frequency assignment is 9.

I can get the guide to work for WFAA, since channel 9 showed in the mappings, and I was able to map it to 8.1. The problem is I can't find the rest of the channels. So, my guide is dead. There's some talk on the Zap2it forums, but most has to do with Myth. I can't find a fix. Sad

Help?

Is it possible to rename or even better maybe reorder the channels in the guide? This is kinda confusing to us, we are used to the channels being in a certain place.

I noticed that too and was about to post about it.

I re-did my subscription and the info is coming down in the XML file but doesn't seem to be displaying in the guide...those channels are just empty. Haven't had a chance to explore it further...

[Edit] I looked closer and found that the digital channels are scattered thru the listings under their actual channel assignment, as mentioned above. The digital version of our channel 8 is on channel 29 so that's where it appears in the listing. It also sends 29 to the IR blaster to select the channel, which works OK for me but I'd imagine it might hose up other folks. It would be nice to be able to put it back the way is was.

In the configuration tool, under Channels, you can edit the channel numbers to be what you want. This would allow you to move the channel back to the number you wanted.

I think this is what you are looking to do.

Here's what I did on the ATSC side:

- I went to the Capture Sources tab and I reassigned all the Tuning Request Assignments. I unchecked the old channels and checked all the "new" ones.
- I went to the Channels tab and I unchecked the old ones and checked the "new" ones. Then I renumbered the new channels to what the old ones were.
- I emptied my EPG and then did a full reload.
