re: Transcoded AVI won't skip FF/RW like recorded TV
This has been an ongoing issue, that I just accepted, but I have to ask:
I can skip forward and back a MPG that was recorded off air (or digital broadcast) quite well on the MVP. I never lose audio sync...
But the mpg generated with ffmpeg, during the on the fly transcode loses sync quite often, so much that I have hesitate, restarting a video, and skipping forward, or trying to replay some words I may have missed and want to hear again...
It's like the Transcoded mpeg isn't as sturdy as the one recorded off air...
Is it bitrate and resolution that's causing this? Does FFMPEG just not transcode as good a resulting MPEG as a native recorded MPEG?
