I am struggling with my Hauppauge card:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21728
I have also a Pinnacle card, so I replaced the Hauppauge.
(uninstalled the software too...)
I only loaded the drivers, not the Pinnacle software.
The GB-PVR config tab: capture sources: capture card type has been
set to Pinnacle PCTV 110i Capture Device, I had added to the direct.ini
the following:

[Pinnacle PCTV 110i Capture Device]
INIT_MODE=DEFAULT
INIT_MSP=0
SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO=1
FILTER_CROSSBAR=Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog Xbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog Capture
FILTER_TV_TUNER=Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog TV Tuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog TV Audio
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audioinput
PIN_CAPTURE_CAPTURE_OUT=Capture
PIN_WRITER_INPUT_IN=Input

Problem is that the recordings give an errormessage: cannot render the file

and in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log ther is an ERROR and there
is the ConexantRecorder mentioned ? this is too complicated, please help !!!
here is the log file:

I'm guessing this device doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder?

ok, I'm guessing maybe you're not using the same version of drivers as those guys were, and maybe Pinnacle changed some pin names on their drivers.

Quote:18:59:00.906 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Analog Audio' to 'TVAudio In'
18:59:01.140 ERROR Failed to route audio crossbar
I'd guess one of these two names is wrong. You'd have to use GraphEdit to check.

I did that, but I don't fully understand.
I assume that the lines in the "direct.ini" file specify the pin names.

The pin names become visible in a graph from the program GraphEdit:
What I see is a box with names. Some names are mentioned in the "direct.ini"
file and some are not. How do I proceed ?

I have the Hauppauge and the Pinnacle card both in my system, only
the Hauppauge works with the "audio yes/no unpredictable" problem,
the Pinnacle card only works with Live TV, no recordings at all.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I'm very curious about this myself. How do you cognoscenti build working graphs?

downloaded GraphEdit, read the Help file, where i found
how to load a filter (Tab Graph -> insert filter) then the
box with the pinnames appear, you can draw lines between pins of boxes.
That is all I know, how to apply this visual info to get correct GB-PVR
settings is why I am posting this, please, if somebody can tell me how to proceed, that would be great.....

Can you run the filtercheck utility, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log it produces: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6 I'll try to check your pin names for you.

To be honest, looking at the output of filtercheck, it almost looks like it doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder, but we'll check a little further.

In GraphEdit, if you insert the filter called 'Pinnacle PCTV 110i Capture Device', then right on the little box that is the 'capture' pin (on the right side of the filter) and select 'pin properties', what is the 'preferred media type' listed?
