Good stuff NiteShdw... let us know when you have the manual option done for the directories... I would love to run this on my wife's 40 hours worth of "What not to Wear".

Just click and drag the MPG file onto comcut.exe and it will process it. I've also been working on my wife's many hours of What Not to Wear.

Question: I haven't tried the option to delete the original file. Does this also rename the new, edited file to be the same as the old file, or does it keep the file name with comskip in it? I've been deleting the old file, along with the comskip files, and renaming the new file to the old file name so that it's found in the database.

Yes, if you use the "Delete Original" option, the new, commercial free file will be renamed to the same as the original filename, essentially replacing the original with the new. That's what I do.

I'm reworking the UI right now. Right now I've pulled out the "Status" page into it's own form. If run without parameters, it will open a different form for manual input as well as a setting options. So if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Is anyone having a problem with this? I drag the file onto comcut and it flashs up for a few seconds but doesn't seam to do anything. I've already ran the program and given all the correct paths etc. No errors or log file that I can see.

That can happen if it can't run the mpeg tools, or if there is an I/O issue, or if there isn't a comskip log file. Check for an error.log file. I don't currently have much debug logging implemented (I'm used to using the VS debugger), but I'll add more to the next version.

All I can say is make sure you are using build 9, that a comskip log file exists (or you have the option to run comskip enabled), and try it with different files. If you can narrow down what's going on I'll look into it. I still don't consider it a 'stable' build, though it does run fine on my machine.

Have you tried putting it in 'postprocessing.bat' to see if it works after recording a show?

Ok. I tried deleting the existing comskip file and it did create a new one for me so I know that's working well. I think it has some thing to do with the mpgtx part of things. I can run that tool from the command line ok (not that it does much without any names given). There is no error log so I don't know what the problem is.... I'll just wait for the next version to see if that helps at all. Thanks NiteShdw. Smile

I have yet to try comcut but I have used comclean so I am curious as to the differences between comcut and comclean.

Thanks

Davis, I had the same issue, and found that I hadn't set the path to mpgtx within Comcut.

Tried this yesterday, and the file I processed had the audio out of sync when I tried to play it. I didn't have time to look into it (hopefully tonight), but has anyone else had this problem?

Great tool by the way! I've been waiting ages for something like this. Keep up the good work!
