Okay, I got Comskip working, and it seems to be about 95 percent. Occationally it cuts a bit before the commercial, a little past the end of one (rarely) OR just removes the last 30 seconds of a show.

I would LOVE there to be a remote toggle on MVP to ignore comskip information. Today I had a recording where the last 4 minutes or so was flagged as commercials. I could not stop and rewind into it, as it would end the playback when it hit. I had to go to my computer, disable automatic commercial skip (restarting recording service and mvp) in order to watch the last 30 seconds of my show.

I searched the forums, and didnt see anybody asking this question. Is there any way to toggle comskip'ed video to play via the remote? I know I can rewind to see, but it dont help if it's the entire end of a recording.

You can toggle comskip support by pressing 999 during video playback.

Thanks very much Sub, I'll give it a try.

Is there anywhere like in the wiki that the MVP remote commands of this sort are listed?

Most stuff is listed in the wiki, but maybe not that specific one - its a recent addition.

Okay, I tried the '999' thing, and it works. I have one small suggestion though. It would be nice if the screen somehow showed the status of the comskip toggle.

It does, but some peoples TVs (or user's eyes) arnt good enough to tell the difference. One shows the commercials as dark green, the other dark grey. There are skin options to change these colours, but I dont remember the details off hand.

I'm looking at the skin.xml in the OSD folder. I dont know if this is the right one or not. I'm guessing the TimeLineAvailableAd is the commercial, but I dont have any idea which one is used for the 999 toggle off. (using MVP-shouldnt make a diff though)

<NamedColors>
<NamedColor name="TimelineNotAvailable" color="#640000"/>
<NamedColor name="TimelineAvailable" color="Green"/>
<NamedColor name="TimelineAvailableAd" color="#003200"/>
<NamedColor name="TimelineNotYetAvailable" color="Black"/>
<NamedColor name="TimelineBorder" color="Gray"/>
<NamedColor name="TimelinePositionIndicator" color="Gray"/>
<!-- BDA signal quality/strength -->
<NamedColor name="StrengthBorder" color="Gray"/>
<NamedColor name="StrengthFill" color="Green"/>
<NamedColor name="QualityBorder" color="Gray"/>
<NamedColor name="QualityFill" color="Green"/>
<!-- volume graph -->
<NamedColor name="VolumeBorder" color="Gray"/>
<NamedColor name="VolumeFill" color="Green"/>
</NamedColors>

I think the two colours are called "TimelineAvailableAd" and "TimelineIgnoredAd". If you dont have one defined in your file, just add one.
