I installed version 98.13 last week. I am all of a sudden having an issue where when I try to schedule Smallville weekly in the same time slot NONE of it shows up in the Reoccurring list, BUT none of the episodes gets scheduled as evidenced by no occurrence of Smallville in the Pending list. Additionally, after having scheduled this from the TV Guide, the item does not turn RED.

I then tried deleting the Reoccurring entry and within the TV Guide re-scheduling, this time choose all episodes on this channel (not necessarily in the same time slot). Again, I don't get the red highlight on it, but I do get episodes showing in the Pending list .. HOWEVER, they are re-run episodes occurring in all other time slots and NOT in the time slot I am actually wanting to record (7 - 8 PM on Thursdays).

In order to see if this was a problem with just Smallville in this particular time slot, I went into the Guide and chose King of Queens and all daily episodes in this time slot. I did get the red highlight on all episodes and the daily episodes do show up in the Pending listing.

It appears to me that there is an issue with the zap2it EPG listing for Smallville for the Thursday 7 - 8 PM weekly time slot that is preventing GBPVR from recognizing it as being what I am requesting. For now I am working around the issue with a manually scheduled weekly recording for the time slot and channel (by the way, it would be great to have a padding setting for the Manual Rec).

Any ideas???

Delete the reoccurring entry for this show, then reschedule you're timeslot recording, the zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Yep ... Been working too many hours and I'm getting tired and forgetful. Tuna's comment does apply. I had forgotten that there is a "Don't record duplicates" config setting for zap2it, which I do have checked.

Sorry.

You're not the only one.
I couldn't figure out why they wern't recording either.
They show one new episode then 2 repeats, then one new episode & 2 repeats & so on.:o

Sorry slightly off topic:
Is zap2it the only way to stop repeated episodes recording? I use XMLTV and the radio times EPG (UK channels) and can't figure out a way to do this.

Generally, yes. The reason is that xmltv provides no means for identifying one show as being the same as another. You can not rely on the description of a show to identify it as unique, since many channels just repeat the same description for each episode of a show. Without this sort of info, GB-PVR has no way to know two episodes are the same, so they're all treated as new.

But RecTracker (part of the xrecord plugin) will eliminate dupes if they have a unique description or subtitle.
It's worth looking at.

I looked into doing this in the past. Trust me, for most parts of the world this wouldnt be adequate.

You can use rectracker and edit XML files to add the name of individual shows that you know uses real episode description or subtitles, but these shows would be few and far between in my experience, so not worth it in my book.
