pBS Wrote:first off i see you're not using the anamorphic aspect ratios...anything else always messed up my aspect ratios....Well, I don't know how you see that or what anamorphic aspect ratios are... teach me something
pBS Wrote:also, have you fiddled with anything on the color tab? if you do you'll see significant performance issues...!No, they are all at their defaults.
pBS Wrote:also, i notice you're getting only mode A accelleration..[idct only]Well, I haven't looked at my old Radeon to notice this, but my old 9200 sits in my daughter's machine and I just installed gb-pvr in client mode yesterday. With the ATI-specific Cyberlink drivers she's averaging 16% CPU-utilization! Old card, lower-end machine - shows me just how badly the NVidia card or drivers are performing. I'm gonna go have to see if I can figure out what mode my Radeon is using.
every Radeon ever made does mode C at least[idct and motion estimation and something else]..i thought the 6200 had hardware accell...my fx5200 does same as yours..maybe a driver version issue..i heard things..try older ones..
I plan on taking the other advice above and trying older NVidia drivers today. I don't hold much hope though.
pBS Wrote:also, is that a agp or PCIE card? big differences between the 2 for memory transfers...It's AGP. But shoot... this isn't the latest gaming rig and doesn't need to be. My old Radeon 9200 is proving more capable than my NVidia 6200. I may have to put in back into this machine to prove to myself it's not something else in the box that's doing this, and if so, go out and get another Radeon card. I read of other problems with a wide range of NVidia cards so I don't think it's really just a 6200 problem.
