The GBPVR server plays an MKV file fine inside GBPVR using the MPC video decoder and other filters. Those filters appear in the server's logs as expected. When the same MKV is opened in the client with GraphStudio, it also plays fine and uses the same filters that the server uses. However, when the client tries to play the file inside GBPVR I get a black screen and the following log entry that shows no attempt to use MPC video decoder.

Code:
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE    getSetting(VerticalZoom)
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE    getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE    Graph contains the following filters:
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE     - Video Renderer
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE     - Default DirectSound Device
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531    VERBOSE    getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought GBPVR just handed off MKV to Windows/Directshow. It does this correctly with the server. It does plays fine on the client's copy of GraphStudio/GraphEdit. Why won't GBPVR play it on the client?

I've tried several video/audio decoder settings, and they were all set to System Default when the test above was done.

OK, I found the problem. The file was added to the database with vidimport, and it inserted it as "E:\Movies\movie.mkv". It needed to be added as "\\CompName\E\Movies\movie.mkv". It works fine when played through the Video Library. Time to run some SQL scripts to fix the entries in gbpvr.db3!
