Hey guys got analog cable running under WINTV 2000. Do not have a remote function going so I have to access the machine through another using VNC. It sucks not having the remote because I have to change the channels through WINTV 2000.

If I split the cable in the back and have one line into the 150 card and the other connected to my TV like it was, Would I still be able to watch TV and use my Sony remote to channel surf? If this can work, then I wouldn't need to change the video input to get to my 150 card. I can just schedule the recording through VNC and watch away? I am making sense?

Thanks

Should I create a new thread?

It's hard for me to figure out what your setup is.

First, are you saying you were unable to get GB-PVR running but you did get WinTV? If so, you should post about your GB-PVR problems because with WinTV working, GB-PVR shouldn't be too much harder to get going and it's definitely better.

Also, it's surprising that you can't get the remote functioning to let you change channels. The IR Blaster can be problematic but the receiver usually works straight away. Are you getting an error message of any kind?

As far as your cable situation goes, are you talking about the coax cable or composite/svideo cables we discussed earlier. If it's the coax cable, split it and have one going to the TV and one to the 150. Each will be able to change channels independently and will allow you schedule stuff to record on the PC while you watch something else on the TV. Changing the channel on one does not change the other.

Okay, you've all mentioned that the 150's IR Blaster can be a problem but none of you have pointed to a way of fixing it. I got WinTV working just fine and GB-PVR is working great too. All except for the damn IR Blaster! I got that working fine with WinTV but GB-PVR, although easily takes the remote input for channel changing in GB-PVR, will not translate this over to the IR Blaster for changing my STB.

Can someone please explain how to set up the 150's IR Blaster so that it actually takes commands from GB-PVR?

Hiding? That's where gbpvr lives, where do expect it to put its files? Smile

Nice thats what I hoping you guys would say! I was refering to my Coax (analog cable tv) I haven't tried the IR blaster prying it open and taping it to the STB yet. I was busy xmas shopping and stuff! I will definitely try it later on today. Now since I got Win TV working I will try it with GBPVR. What should I try first GBPVR or setting up the IR blaster?

DaveKap Okay, hiding "HaupBlast" in devnz/gbpvr was really really hard to find but I found it! Confusedhake fist: Now my blaster works, huzzah.

What was the above about???

Thanks!

Hey guys thanks for all the help! I have finally got it set up with GBPVR. The only thing is the quality of the video while watching TV. Is it my graphics card? I have a 128mb Nvidia FX5200.

Also I can still see my computer's outline all around my TV screen. eg. START button and clock and GBPVR at the top left. Can anyone tell me about some other settings where I wont have to worry about burn in issues?

Thanks
