Hi Sub, Shouldn't any of the installed audio decoders play-back MPEG-2 layer 1?.
(AVIcodec is linking to http://yatoshi.com/ guess that there are suitable downloads there).

This is starting to feel like groundhog day. Try some different audio decoders and I'm sure you'll find one that'll work, much like I said back on the first page of this post.

If you want the most chance of it working so we dont have to go through this whole conversation again, try installing some up market decoders like the Nvidia ones, or Cyberlink ones (not PowerDVD7 though, since its audio decoder wont work in third party apps. PowerDVD6 and earlier is fine)

Hi Sub, Installed PowerDVD6 whilst initially starting this thread. Shall battle on trying various audio decoders. Didn't understand why you'd wanted AVIcodecs to be run and log attached however guess that you requested this to check whether there were any obvious errors that you could identify immediately.

I just wanted to see if this file had AC3 audio, which would have significantly reduced the number of audio decoders you could have used. Its not AC3 audio, so nothing useful there.

edit: doh, just read your first post - seems that channel really does only have one use Big Grin

Hi, Tried GB-PVR on two seperate PCs. Same problem on both. No, not only recorded Pimp My Ride but other programs on Channel 5 US. Think that trying GB-PVR on two seperate PCs with different specification rules out the problem being PC related. Tried several different audio decoders now. Media MVP seems to work alright so guess I'm happy with that as want to use GB-PVR with Media MVP as opposed to play-back on a PC. All program recordings work alright with VLC.

I'm definately able to record and playback 5US with no problems (just tried it again now) - so given that you've tried different hardware (I take it you had different tuner cards in each PC) and software it maybe something to do with your local transmitter????

EDIT: P.S. Im using the cyberlink mux to record to mpg - so maybe some weird issue with dvr-ms if your using that.....

Hi, Thank you for your reply. Tried different tuner cards in two seperate PCs. What's confusing is that video and audio plays-back fine in VLC but not in GB-PVR.

I'm not sure what audio decoders I should be trying as I've tried a few without avail.
Please advise which one you are using.

Is there any particular version of Cyberlink Mux that you'd recommend?.

Thank you.
Best Regards.

to get the cyberlinlk mux registered follow these instructions (you also have to select it in the config app once it's installed - note, this is different/additional to your choice of audio decoder)
dfdario Wrote:Get Hybrid DVB-T/Analog zipped driver from http://www.twinhan.com/download_driver&software.asp

Extract (not install) THMpgMux.ax in a preferred directory (eg. ...\devnz\gbpvr)

Click Start then Run program
Type: Regsvr32 "<directory where you extracted the muxer>\THMpgMux.ax" hit return

Now you have Cyberlink muxer registered and working. Wink

I'm using nvideo purevideo at the moment, but I've used others in the past (intervideo, ac3filter....) and not seen this problem.
I think vlc uses AC3filter (free download from sourceforge) I used to swear by it but some users have reported that it can interfer with the video quality, but certainly worth a try. vlc is pretty spot on for playing files with odd problems, so i think this is more a plus for vlc than a mark against GBPVR as it just calls other functions to do it's work for it 'by the book'.
good luck...
