Here is my scenarior:
- I think I have GB PVR installed and working correctly, everything seems to work, except:
- when my CPU is busy doing something else, like compressing a MPG *AND* I record a show, the audio studders.

If I play the show in GB PVR I get no audio at all. If I play the show in winamp (or on my MVP) then I hear the studder.

The priority of the CPU hogging process (ex: Auto GK) is set to low.

So normally everything works, but what can I do to make GB PVR a high priority? Or is there a config tweak? I don't think it is a decoder problem.

I remember hearing about some reg tweaks to help recording - would that help me?

Thanks Miles

There is a setting in config.xml force the Recording Service to high priority that you could, but if you've got something else using high amounts of CPU then all bets are off, and you'll possibly get problems like this. The only certain fix is to avoid using other CPU hogging processes at the same time.

Thanks.

For the curious the option is:
<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>true</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>

This is not the default, I changed it.

I will test it and see what happens.

After a little more testing, I was mistaken - all my recordings now stutter.
