I've just gone back and re-read you posts but its not clear what exactly the problem with the PVR USB2 is. When you create a new capture source, and select the Direct Recording Plugin, then click the settings button, and it pops up the card where you select the card type, if you tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' does it show your PVR USB2 listed?
Manually selecting this device can be a bit confusing since Hauppauge renamed its drivers at some point PVR2 USB2 instead of PVR USB2, so it depends what drivers you've got installed to determine which device name you'd need to manually select. Try the 'only show devices detected in this machine' to hopefully avoid this confusion.
As for the aspect ratio problem, I suspect thats because you're using the ffdshow video decoder and its trying to manage the aspect ratio itself. Try a different video decoder.
I select the "show only devices on this machine" end it shows the pvr2 usb2, I can select it but when i try to configure it, it says the drivers aren't installed. I continued installing anyway but i can't get my second zap2it account installed and the fm tuner doesn't work. The usb2 was the only device installed before and worked perfectly. I just wanted to be able to record my extended channel listings from the STB, that's why I installed the PVR 150 with the irblaster. which works very well. I hope I don't have to start from scratch wiping the drive and reinstalling everything. I did once with a ghost image but I still can't install the usb2. I'll let you know how it goes.
I bought the Nvidia pure video decoder last year when they had a special with a new vid card. I'll install them and try all the ones that are installed and report back.

Try to use this device in either live tv or a recording, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
I tried your suggestion, but it didn't want to work.
So I un-installed GB-PVR, cleaned all files and folders referring to it and cleaned the registry of any entries of GB.
Installed WinTv2000 and confirmed that the two 2 devices were working, all passed.
Re-installed GB-PVR, reconfigured my 150 and setup the Nvidia decoder. checked that the ratio stayed at 16x7, it"s OK NOW.
Installed the usb2 and this time it saw it and I setup my second account for the guide.
Tested recording 2 channels at the same time and watch video, tried the fm radio, picts, music and even played a dvd while it was recording, It stayed widescreen all the time, so I suppose you were right about the decoder. You're the MASTER!!!
Just one slight snag, I can't get it to save favorites in Net Radio. but I can live with that.
Thank You again for all the great work AND support you put in your project.
