I just got my PVR up and running...sort of Smile My set up is Dish TV STB coax to PVR 150 and then video card tv out Svideo to my TV (just SD). I have been able to get live TV through the Win2000 software that comes with the tv tuner card but I cannot get live tv through gbpvr. I already downloaded EPG from zap2it no problem and when i click on live TV it's just a black screen with the right tv guide info. When I go to the tuning assistant it only see's tv on channel 3 (I guess because that's what the tv is tuned to?) Any ideas?

Sounds like you havnt setup your capture source correctly. You need to have configured it to use the 'fix channel, external tuner' option, and set the 'constant channel' to "3". This effectively tells GB-PVR that the signal is coming from a set top box, and will always be received via channel 3.

Also, make sure you have an MPEG2 decoder installed. You should be able to see at least one other than 'system default' listed in the video decoder setting in the config app.

You'd probably also want to add an IR Blaster to get your Dish STB changing channels when required.

That was it! I feel so stupid it was so simple. Ok, another probably simple question. I am using the remote that came with the PVR 150. I downloaded the latest drivers from their website for it and installed. Is there anything else I have to do to start using the remote cause it's not working yet!

Assuming you've got the retail remote, the you need to have clicked the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button at least once in the config app, then restart the Hauppauge IR.exe.

If you've got one of their MCE kit bundles, with MCE remote, then you'll need to set the Remote Type to 'MCE Remote' in the config app.

What do I select for Channel Changer under config? And where is the "fix hauppauge remote settings" button?

This doesnt relate to remote controls. Its about controlling and external set top box using and IR Blaster.

Its on the "DVD & Remote" tab of the config app.

How do I restart the hauppauge ir.exe? Also, don't I need to select something for channel changer still since I am using an external STB?

From memory they've created a RestartIR shortcut withe other Hauppauge WinTV shortcuts in the start menu.

If you're trying to use an IR Blaster, then yes. If its the retail model PVR150, with its included IR Blaster, then you need to config the IR Blaster using the Hauppauge BlastCFG app, then set you GB-PVR channel changer to the '.exe channel changer' and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe

Well, I found a code that worked (28, oddly enough). It passed the power on\off test in the irblaster config. I also set channel changer to what you told me to. Problem is it's still not working when I just try changing the channel with the remote. What am I missing?
