Zehd, I swear those directory settings were right before. I changed the name to Zprocess. Will the config file in GBPVR know to process through zprocess?
Here's the new logs.

I see that although there are stil the error 13, My Name is Earl is the only one that won't give a dimensions with the api... So we're going to ingnore that one. (BTW, it looks like it was recorded by GB-PVR and then transcoded into AVI. Now you're trying to transcode it back to MPG so you can view it on MVP. Is that right?) Anyway, Time to look some more... How big are the files? Is it possible that I could get a copy...?

I'm sorry if this is getting tedious. It's difficult to explain the minor tweaks I'm doing...
Anyway, would you mind trying again? ffmpeg.zip 835 Edit: BTW, You migt try to set the transcoding parameters a bit differently. First, I'd like to see the log when you use ffmpeg, and not mencoder... Second, with ffmpeg, and the Trans2MVP profie, select NTSC-DVD and then change the bitrate from 6000 to 4000, and change the Output size from 720x 480 to something like 640x480... Zip and attach.... Thanks

Zehd, Success, well sort of. I did what you asked you'll see the first part of the logs have ffmeg as the transcoder, but then I tried Mencoder. It worked. Playing it around with it some more, I realized that Mecoder doesn't work if the parameters at the bottom of the transcoding page are blank, (the video and audio codec's, and bite rates, and the audio freq), where as ffmpeg doesn't seem to care. Looking at the log it still gives a type 13 with the mencoder, but it will transcode it provided those fields are filled in.
I also tested them through the MVP and everything worked. But I renamed Zprocess back to Zprocess and I'm not sure if the GPPVR is calling up Zprocess or FFmpeg for transcode. I have GBPVR version 99.5 but do I need to make an addition to the config file? Anyway thanks for all your help, Great job.

Zehd, Here's my logs from today. I think you eliminated the type 13 error. Unfortunately when I call up a file through the MVP it does not transcode it, and usually breaks the connection, reboots, the MVP. I also noticed that even though "launch VLC after 5 secs" is checked on the transcode tab, it doesn't launch VLC until the transcode is complete.

I'm thinking of taking teh CPU Priority out of ZProcess. If you have it anything higher than 'Below Normal' It and ffmpeg.exe or Mencoder hog the CPU so badly, that VLC doesn't get a chance to run... Be sure that it will work completely right, with no interaction (except selecting a file, a profile and 'start') before you even think about trying on the MVP. (I can just see the thought police choking on their donuts...) hmm. Moving files... Code: 1/8/2007 4:34:04 PM : Transcode finishes moving files : D:\Video's\101_0146c.avi Before I write that into ZProcess for more logging, where are you having ZProcess move the files, and what option do you have chosen?

Zehd, I don't know why it says moving files. The input directory was D:/video's and the output I selected was D:/video's. I lowered the cpu to below normal, I had raised it because it was taking too long to transcode the other day, but now it does fine at the below normal setting and it launches vlc in 5 seconds. Everything seems to work on the computer. The MVP is another story. It won't play any avi's and causes the MVP to reboot. When I "remove all refs" i.e. go back to ffmpeg most of the transcoding appears to work, the exception being Youtube that's 50/50 at best.

Zehd, I don't know why it says moving files. The input directory was D:/video's, my second internal hard drive I use for mass storage, and the output I selected was D:/video's. I lowered the cpu to below normal, I had raised it because it was taking too long to transcode the other day, but now it does fine at the below normal setting and it launches vlc in 5 seconds. Anyway the type 13 error is gone, so I guess we could close out this thread, where do you want me to reply next time. murf64 Wrote:Zehd, I don't know why it says moving files. Everything seems to work on the computer. Well the log still says that Trans2MVP is running 'above normal', and that you're override folder is the same as both your input and output folder. (Although you have Override disabled) I warn that if you happen to have an avi and accidentally transcode '2avi' and my safeguard for preventing overwrites fails, your original file is hooped. Anyway that's just nit picking... If this part works, that's great. But if you have the time, I'd love you to try something for me... Setup directory structure to have three different folders... Input, output and override... And Make sure that the 'After Transcoding' feature for Trans2MVP says: Do Nothing... AND on the Directories, More tab, that the 'send copy of output file' is unchecked... Transode one AVI, start to finish, and post that log, please... (here) For getting it to work with MVP, I'll start a thread for optimizing the defaults so the MVP will not crash
