And as you've pointed out, if ZProcess is not being used or has not ever been installed, then GBPVR expects to see a the transcode file named ffmpeg.exe (two ff's) in the Third Party/FFMpeg folder or the transcode under GBPVR will fail and in fact will cause a number of system issues with GBPVR.

'number if issues...' Big Grin

Thanks Gents,

I made sure the filename included two fs and since then, GBPVR is working as usual. As long as I restart the recording service just before my daily scheduled recordings to make sure it is operating properly. It's a pain but I can make a habit of it I guess. I still have the problem that if I reboot the computer the 8 sources appear in the status window and scheduled recordings fail.

I have an idea for you... Set the 'restart.bat' from the GBPVR folder to run as a scheduled task...

I'll try that and report back

I tried sheduling the GBPVR config to open and close which almost worked except a scheduled closing was a "cancel" not an "Ok" . An "Ok" automatically restarts the recording service. I didn't know how to do it directly - thanks for pointing out which file I needed.

im fairly sure that i read Slimm GBPVR monitors the recording service and restarts it if it crashes. maybe this would be a workaround for you? take a read of the slimm gbpvr thread, might be more detail there than the wiki has.
